Bring Me Your Midnight
by Rachel Griffin

Summary
Tana Fairchild’s fate has never been in question. Her life has been planned out since the moment she was born: she is to marry the governor’s son, Landon, and secure an unprecedented alliance between the witches of her island home and the mainlanders who see her very existence as a threat.
Tana’s coven has appeased those who fear their power for years by releasing most of their magic into the ocean during the full moon. But when Tana misses the midnight ritual—a fatal mistake—there is no one she can turn to for help…until she meets Wolfe.
Wolfe claims he is from a coven that practices dark magic, making him one of the only people who can help her. But he refuses to let Tana’s power rush into the sea, and instead teaches her his forbidden magic. A magic that makes her feel powerful. Alive.
As the sea grows more violent, her coven loses control of the currents, a danger that could destroy the alliance as well as her island. Tana will have to choose between love and duty, between loyalty to her people and loyalty to her heart. Marrying Landon would secure peace for her coven but losing Wolfe and his wild magic could cost her everything else.

My Review
This story completely captivated me—this was my first book by the author, and it exceeded all my expectations. The story is captivating and atmospheric, with rich island details and a magical ambiance that pulled me in from the very first page.
The forbidden, slow-burn romance between Tana and the mysterious young man, Wolfe, was deeply romantic and brimming with tension and chemistry. I loved that this was a closed-door romance, allowing the emotional depth to shine. Tana’s struggle with loyalty to her coven and mother versus following her own heart was both compelling and relatable, and I felt every bit of her inner turmoil.
The magic system was intricate yet easy to follow, with a unique connection to nature—the tides, moon, sea, and flowers all beautifully intertwined with the witches’ powers. Rachel Griffin’s vivid descriptions brought the setting and magic to life, making it perfect for a fall or Halloween read.
With its gothic, eerie atmosphere and elements of politics, love, loyalty, and self-discovery, this story has everything I adore in romantic fantasy. The audiobook added to the experience, immersing me completely in the world. (Note: There are queer side characters and a lesbian wedding sequence.)
This book is an absolute must-read if you enjoy forbidden or enemies-to-lovers romances, witchy reads, and beautifully written fantasy with emotional depth!
